Apprenticeship Construction Carpenter
Carpenters should have a passion for wood, because they work with this material every day. Today, carpenters are needed not only in traditional craftsmanship but also in industry.
In our HERING precast factory, they are the experts when it comes to formwork for our concrete elements. Training includes – in addition to the usual carpenter’s tasks – producing formwork according to plans. Without formwork, there are no concrete elements. Skilled carpenters are therefore the foundation of a functioning production process!
How long does the apprenticeship last?
The apprenticeship usually starts on August 1st.
It lasts 3 years, with the possibility of shortening it. You’ll be supported during your time in the company by experienced trainers and an in-house instructor.
Is an apprenticeship in construction worth it?
Absolutely! Here’s the current apprentice pay scale, depending on the year of training:
€1,080 | €1,300 | €1,550
On top, you’ll also receive holiday and Christmas bonuses. Plus, 30 vacation days per year.
How does the apprenticeship work?
In addition to your time in the company, you will attend the Berufskolleg Technik in Siegen (block lessons). You will also take part in inter-company training courses at the Aus- und Weiterbildungszentrum Bau in Kreuztal-Fellinghausen. Together, this prepares you perfectly for your exams.
What comes after the apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is the perfect career start or a springboard for further training. These options are available:
- Further training as a master carpenter
- Further training as a technician, e.g. in wood technology or construction technology
- Studies in civil engineering, architecture, or similar fields
