Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Technician
As a plant mechanic for sanitary, heating and air-conditioning systems, you are responsible for making sure everything flows and runs smoothly in the restroom facilities we produce for our customers. You will receive training in our assembly hall, where you will learn how to install sanitary facilities and water connections. The challenge: no two restroom units that leave our company are the same. And the best part: with the hands-on skills you acquire, you’ll later be a sought-after expert among your friends and acquaintances as well.

Your apprenticeship as a plant mechanic
HERING offers excellent apprenticeship opportunities. During your training as a plant mechanic for sanitary, heating and air-conditioning systems (SHK), you will always be supported by experienced trainers and by a dedicated teacher in our in-house classes, who will prepare you specifically for your lessons and exams.
How long does the apprenticeship take?
Plant mechanic apprenticeships usually start on August 1.
The apprenticeship for plant mechanics in sanitary, heating and air-conditioning systems (SHK) takes 3.5 years, with the possibility of shortening the duration.
Is an apprenticeship in construction worth it?
An apprenticeship in construction is definitely worthwhile. Here is the current apprenticeship pay, depending on the year of training:
€1,080 | €1,300 | €1,550 | €1,650
On top of that, you’ll receive additional holiday and Christmas bonuses – plus 30 days of vacation per year.
How does the apprenticeship work?
In addition to your training time at the company, you will attend vocational school in Siegen. There are also various inter-company training courses and cooperation with a partner company.
This way, you’ll be perfectly prepared for your final exam.
