For over 130 years, the HERING Group has been a medium-sized, family-owned construction company now in its fourth generation. Today, we employ around 700 people and are market leaders in several specialized areas of the construction industry.
HERING Management GmbH is our commercial entity, acting as an internal service provider for finance and accounting, controlling, legal affairs, IT, procurement, and other central services. Our IT team is looking forward to welcoming a skilled new team member.
Your three key responsibilities
- IT Systems Administration - You will manage our Windows servers and clients, as well as our virtualized server infrastructure and Citrix environment.
- Network & Cloud - You will handle network administration and manage Office 365 and Exchange environments (cloud, hybrid, and on-premises).
- Support & Integration - You will be responsible for installing and documenting hardware and software, as well as providing 1st- and 2nd-level user support.
What we are looking for
You are a committed, reliable, and solution-oriented team player with experience in the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows Server
- LAN / WAN / WLAN and IT security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
- Virtualization solutions (e.g. VMware)
- Terminal server environments
- Office 365 / Azure
- Storage and backup solutions
- Microsoft Exchange / Mobile Device Management

When HERING invited me in 2016 to take the entrance test, then to the interview, and finally to sign my apprenticeship contract, I was thrilled. After completing my apprenticeship, I was taken on as a project assistant in the railway construction division. I still really enjoy my work here at HERING. I can apply my knowledge and skills while also learning new ones.

In 2000, I started my apprenticeship as an office communications clerk at HERING. After completing my training, I was able to take part in HERING’s junior development program. As a result, from 2007 until the birth of my first child in 2012, I held the position of Head of International Sales. After returning from parental leave in 2014, I began working as a project management assistant. Following the birth of my second child in 2016, I took another three years of parental leave. Today, I am happy to be back on board at HERING. I mainly support International Sales and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to balance both my career and family life.

After completing a part-time distance learning program, I successfully graduated as a Construction Business Administrator in just 1.5 years! Throughout the entire training, I could fully rely on HERING’s support. Now, I’m excited to put the knowledge I gained through this qualification into practice in my work at HERING.
Construction Business Administrator
The main task of a train driver is to supply the construction site with the required building materials – for example, wagons with ballast or sleepers. What matters most is that the requested materials are delivered punctually and reliably. I’ve now been working in this profession for ten years. Thanks to the constantly changing work locations, it never gets boring: conditions on site are always different, and you get to meet many new people.
